LCL (Less than Container Load) is designed for shipments that do not fill a whole container. Cargo from several shippers is consolidated at a CFS warehouse, loaded into one container, shipped to the destination port, then deconsolidated and delivered to each consignee.
With a global agent network and strong relationships with container lines, Goodwills offers LCL services for both exports and imports, keeping you informed throughout the journey.
Who is LCL for?
- Small and medium-sized businesses shipping a few cubic metres (CBM).
- Samples, trial orders and top-up orders between larger shipments.
- Businesses reducing inventory by importing in smaller, more frequent lots.
Our LCL consolidation process
- Pick-up from your warehouse or delivery to the nominated CFS.
- Consolidation at the origin CFS, with checks on marks and packing.
- Ocean transport on regular consolidation sailings.
- Deconsolidation at the destination CFS, customs clearance and delivery.
Tips for shipping LCL
Pack for handling
LCL cargo is handled several times, so use pallets, strong cartons and proper dunnage.
Mark every package
Show consignee, package count and item codes clearly to avoid mix-ups during deconsolidation.
